About
Young Medalists High Performance is one of the premier junior U19 and U23 cycling programs in the United States and is being established in Norway 2012. Designed by Olympians, professional cyclists, and leading USA Cycling-certified coaches to maximize performance in competitive road and track cycling for a wide range of young athletes, this year-round program provides expert cycling instruction in an experiential setting that is challenging and competitive, yet fun and personally rewarding.
The programming at Young Medalists High Performance is modeled after the system of European cycling clubs that provide for the hierarchical progression of young athletes over a planned length of time and is designed to allow the rider a pace of development and involvement that best suits their age, physical maturity, and level of competitiveness. Using the guidelines from its trademarked Culture of Five™—a visionary axiom for personal development focusing on five powerful fundamentals—the program’s instructional methodology allows young people to test themselves in an environment that is challenging, but supportive, while concurrently focused on personal growth, yet always mindful of the group dynamic and its collective evolution.
Mission
The singular goal of Young Medalists High Performance is to provide young athletes with world-class infrastructure, knowledge, and coaching expertise to reach their true potential in competitive cycling. Young Medalists High Performance prides itself on competent, caring staff, dedicated to the needs of its members, cognizant of the athlete’s need for balance in life while pursuing excellence in sport.
Vision
The future of Young Medalists as a brand and organization is built upon the foundation of High Performance in tandem with Health and Wellness, forces that combined provide our young people with a wide range of fitness, wellness, and high performance services designed to improve across the spectrum of young life.
